CPR Training Certification Classes

Certification cards are issued within 24 hours after course completion. Register early as enrollment is limited and classes fill up quickly. Confirmation and class details will be sent via email, including a reminder and location address the day before class.
If you need the latest AHA Healthcare Providers (BLS) manual, you may click the box to purchase and it and it will be sent via email.

Heartsaver Adult/Child/Infant CPR/AED/Choking

Skills covered are Adult, Child and Infant CPR, use of a pocket face mask, foreign body airway obstruction, and the use of the AED (Automated External Defibrillator). Students receive an AHA credentialed course completion card good for 2 years.
The American Heart Association’s Heartsaver CPR class is designed for childcare providers, coaches, teachers, coaches, personal trainers, lay person responders and the general public. It is not the correct course for healthcare providers. If you are in the healthcare profession, please refer to the HCP BLS course.
This course is appropriate whether taking as an initial or a recertification student.
Approximately 3 hour course. $75

Heartsaver CPR/AED/Choking
/First Aid

Skills covered are Adult, Child and Infant CPR, use of a pocket face mask, foreign body airway obstruction, and the use of the AED (Automated External Defibrillator). The basic first aid portion of the course covers patient assessment, bleeding and fracture management, cardiac emergencies and other acute injuries and illnesses. Students receive an AHA credentialed course completion card good for 2 years. This course is appropriate whether taking as an initial or a recertification student.
Approximately 4 hours. $92

BLS -
Healthcare Provider CPR/AED/Choking

This course is for healthcare providers including physicians, nurses, paramedics, EMT’s, respiratory therapists, physical & occupational therapists, physicians assistants, medical or nursing students, CNA’s, aides, medical or nursing assistants, fire fighters, police officers and other allied health personnel.
Adult, Child and Infant CPR, foreign body airway obstruction in conscious and unconscious patients, use of barrier protection (pocket masks), bag valve mask ventilation (BVM’s) and the use of AED (Automated External Defibrillator) are covered in this course. There is a written test and skills evaluation. Students receive the AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers course completion card good for 2 years. The course is appropriate whether taking as an initial or a recertification student.

Workplace CPR Training

At Central Coast CPR we make your training and re-certification fun and easy:
* We will travel to your location on a day that is convenient to your schedule
(we require only six or more students for onsite classes, at regular class pricing per student).
* Classes can be booked any day during daytime or evening hours, subject to instructor availability.
* Certification cards for CPR and First Aid are valid for two years.

Last Minute Class

Do you need a last minute Certification? We offer private, last minute BLS classes
(described above) for $160 per person, subject to instructor availability.
Heartsaver Private class is $185. Please email or call us with your information
and your certification due date, and we will do our best to fit you into our schedule.

All classes have a minimuim 24 hour cancellation notice for full refund

FAQ's

Can I enroll in a CPR class on the same day the class will be taught?

No problem; as long as the class is still open, you can enroll.

What do I need to complete before class?

Nothing! Just arrive to class 10 minutes early, and wear comfortable clothes. Pleases bring a hair tie if you have long hair. Feel free to bring a snack as well.

Where are classes held?

We are based in Atascadero, but our classes are held throughout the county. Some classes are open to others, while other classes are private for schools or Dr. Offices. Please use the “contact us” form for classes. Confirmation will be emailed as well as directions, the day before the class.

Do you teach CPR for health care providers?

Yes - we teach BLS for Healthcare Providers through the American Heart Association.

Do you cancel classes due to low enrollment?

Yes. We will cancel classes with less than 3 people. We usually will know this ahead of time and help you get booked into a different class.

What does”BLS” mean?

Basic Life Support.

What is an AED?

AED stands for automatic external defibrillator.

How long will my certification card be valid?

Certification cards for all of the classes we teach are valid for two years from the issue date.

Do you have refresher courses?

All our courses can be taken by both first time CPR students and those with previous training. Our classes are performance based - you will move through the skills at your own pace.

I’ve seen online courses in CPR that are more convenient for me. What are the advantages of taking a course in a classroom?

While online courses may provide the same basic concepts as an in-class course, CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) is a motor skill, not a cognitive skill, that requires practice and repetition in order to learn effective techniques. Also, many employers will not accept online-only training. With Central Coast CPR, 90% of your class time is spent practicing on mannequins or participating in real life scenarios. Our instructors are there to help you with technique, answer any questions you might have, and most importantly, customize the class to your unique needs.
